Susan has experienced the unmatched benefits of Pilates resistance training in her quest to stay fit and strong. As a dancer and yoga practitioner, she has always been athletic, but being faced with multiple injuries over the years, she discovered how Pilates has the power to heal. She understands how Pilates challenges the body safely. “Pilates increases symmetrical strength, stamina, flexibility and coordination and is unlike any other system or exercise program.”
Susan began her Pilates journey in Atlanta, after growing up in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She began taking Pilates classes to balance out a successful career in corporate sales while teaching dance. After moving to Nashville, she became Pilates Mat-certified by Balanced Body in 2016 and began studying under world-famous Sonjé Mayo. Sonje’s classical Pilates knowledge inspired her to study further, and she recently graduated from the Real Pilates Teacher Training program at Pilates Fit Studio in Louisville. With an unwavering desire to maintain an active lifestyle for herself and her students, she empowers our clients to try new things, work hard and trust the process. Susan is such a popular instructor that she is in demand in Pilates studios in Glasgow, Bowling Green and Nashville. In addition to a lifetime of formal dance training and Pilates, Susan has been practicing yoga for 25+ years and is an RYT-200 hr. yoga instructor.
